BARREL CLINIC & SHOW FORMAT
1) ARRIVAL
Please ensure you arrive at least 30 minutes prior to the start of your clinic time (this will be sent to you a few days before the event)Â Upon arrival please visit the wooden lodge (Fulbeck) or the horse lorry (all other events) to check in and complete relevant paperwork.
2) CLINIC
You will be allocated a 1 hour time slot for you and your horse to be participating in a group clinic, this clinic will have you learn the fundamentals of barrel racing or more advanced techniques as you progress. There are usually at least 2 clinics per event and usually grouped as per rider experience.
3) SHOW ENTRIES
We have a comprehensive list of classes to suit all experiences, ages, horse size and membership status (see below) Please visit us in the Cafe (Fulbeck) or the horse lorry / vehicle (other venues) to enter the classes you wish to run in. You may enter more than one horse if you desire.
4) THE RACING
The event will be run in accordance with the NBHA-UK rulebook. The announcer will usually ask you to gather at a muster point for you to be able to access the arena swiftly when it is your time to run. The classes will be run concurrently and we will always try our best to provide at least 3 other runs between yours to enable a rest period. The barrel racing is usually halted for arena surface levelling and again when we set up for the pole bending classes.
5) RESULTS
Following your final run you are free to go and return your horse to your lorry / trailer and we will announce a time to gather at the communal area for prize giving and presentations. We always have quality rosettes for the first 3 placings in each class, along with rosettes for fastest barrel time and fastest pole time. We also present the member who has amassed the highest points a trophy.
